Affirming Our Gratitude

fullsizeoutput_2142

Welcome to Thursday!

Let us give thanks.

We are reminded on a daily basis that times are challenging and trying, leaving the decision to find the bright side at all times to be a definitive choice.

You have everything you need right now to declare that you are living an Ultimate Life at The Ultimate Level.

No matter what atrocities are being committed around the world, what we pay attention to, multiplies. Escaping bad news or tragic updates seems to be impossible, but then again, what you think about, you bring about, right?

Here are a few things you can do right now to alleviate some of the strife you may be finding in your life:

  • Edit your Notification settings on your mobile device to alter the type of and how often you want to receive push notifications from news outlets.
  • Buddy-up with a news junkie who makes it their business to be glued to the goings-on of each day, who you can trust to alert you with pertinent information, instead of every single tweet or headline that may or may not be newsworthy. By doing this, you can tune out most of what you don’t need to know!
  • Turn off the television when you’re not watching it with intention. If you need to have background noise on while working or multitasking, explore your options with a music streaming service to help you function on a different frequency, literally. (I do not have a paid partnership with any particular service, but I recommend Amazon Music if you’re a Prime Member. It’s included with your membership and you can stream entire albums, commercial-free, unless the music is newly released; there’s usually an additional fee for that.)
  • When you drive, choose a station that is relaxing. SiriusXM has a great Spa channel, Channel 68, as well as some beautiful pieces that play on Symphony Hall.
If your vehicle has a panoramic sunroof, open it up! Let the light in! My car has this feature and it does wonders for helping me elevate my spirit.
  • iPhone users – you have the option to “favorite” photos you’ve taken. Once favorited, those photos are in their own album, called “Favorites.” If you marked them as favorites, you must love them, so open your Photos and take a scroll through what you love. You’re bound to lift your spirits and change your frequency so you can ascend to The Ultimate Level.
  • Document your gratitude. Whether you deposit slips of paper with thankful notes on them into your Gratitude Jar or you keep a Gratitude Journal – increase your consciousness of what you’re grateful for each day and your regular life will transform into an Ultimate Life at The Ultimate Level.

Today and every day, find a way to pay your prosperity and abundance forward. We are constantly receiving what we ask for, we are constantly enjoying the simple pleasures of a Universe in balance and we are always able to find the bright side of every circumstance.

Go forward today with happiness in your heart, gratitude in your grip and allow love to light your path.
With Ultimate Gratitude –
Dr. B.

National Margarita Day, with Gratitude!

Frozen-Margarita-720x720-recipe.jpg

Happy National Margarita Day!

If that isn’t worth celebrating, I don’t know what is!

Margaritas make me think of vacations. Cruise vacations, specifically. There’s nothing better than boarding a ship, feeling the sun on your face and holding a frozen margarita in your hand while the scent of sunscreen permeates through the air.

Wow, the mere thought of a vacation brings absolute joy to my heart and to my face. I’ve been fortunate enough to take more than 30 cruises since beginning to cruise in 2010, and I have to tell you – it never gets old!

I’ve sailed the entire Caribbean, the Western Mediterranean, the Northeastern United States and Canada, the northwestern coast of Africa and the Canary Islands, experienced a transatlantic voyage, sailed past the Rock of Gibraltar and I’ve docked in some of the most fabulous ports in the world, my favorite being the Port of Monaco.

My tradition aboard every adventure is to begin with a margarita. So, why is this relevant to you, in your life today? In my podcast this week for The Center of Gratitude Radio Show, I talk about “looking for love with gratitude.” I shared lifestyle tips and strategies to find love in all things, all around you, at all times. By determining what your tone-setting “anchor” will be, that, upon seeing or experiencing it, you know that you’re on the path to an Ultimate Level experience.

Some people use symbols from the Universe like the diamonds that dance on water when the sun hits it just right, or prisms of light that occur in the strangest places, etc. One of my symbols, is a margarita!

Say what you want – think what you want – that’s my thing. But take the message for what it’s worth and look for what you love in your life. Expect to see more of what you love in and as your life. What you think about, you bring about, and as long as you are thinking about what you love – your life will become a never-ending reflection of all the love you possess in your heart; at your center of gratitude.

Have a grateful day!

Thanks-a-Latte Thursday Message – Front and Center with Gratitude

fullsizeoutput_19b2

Front and Center with Gratitude

In my life, I often refer to myself as “present.” That goes all the way back to my days of schooling in lower school and I always felt like there was a definite difference between answering “here” versus “present” during the calling of the Roll.

Reflecting back, I feel like the times I clarified that I was present were days that I learned more and that the material made sense. The days where I answered, “here,” seemed to align more with the days of lamentation.

While in school, with the exception of being assigned my desk by alphabetical order, as in private school, I chose my seat and it was always front and center.

Of course, I was the student who spoke to everyone in class so being put front and center was often viewed as a punishment, whereas I welcomed the placement. I was often bullied in school and when you sit front and center, the teacher doesn’t just have an eye on you, but they have an eye on those who may attempt to bully, also front and center. Showcased bullying was rare, so to sit front and center felt safe and protected.

My need for front and center placement, although rather ambiguous to me then, has become so much more clear to me now as I really root myself into this decade of my life and I am realizing that my choice to be front and center has essentially granted me premier access to the greatest and most poignant experiences that an Ultimate Life at The Ultimate Level has to offer.

Today, I am particularly grateful for my front and center placement and for the realization of the power of being able to differentiate between just being “here” and ultimately being “present.”

Have a grateful day!!

Thanks-a-Latte Thursday Message: A Grateful Pause

fullsizeoutput_19b2

A Grateful Pause by Dr. Johnny Bergstrom

We are halfway through December, if you can believe it, and it is at this time that I invite you to take what I often practice; a grateful pause.

Holidays are tricky.

In The United States of America, we start revving our holiday engines in the beginning of November in preparation for Thanksgiving and then once Thanksgiving is a done deal, it’s a mad dash to Christmas and to the year’s end.

Why?

What’s with the mad dash? What’s with the chaos? What’s with the obligatory party attendances, the obligatory holiday card sending and the obligatory gift giving? Obligatory is so out – WANTING to do all of the above is so “in!”

Why do you have to give anyone a gift? Gift giving should be a choice; one that comes from your heart and your grateful center.

Slow down. Take a minute or twenty. Take some time for yourself.

“Yeah, that’s a nice thought Dr. B, but I don’t see that happening for me.”

With that mindset, you sure won’t see it happening – not now, or ever, for that matter.

Why do you feel like a hostage to the wants of your children? To your spouse? Why don’t you make the list? If everyone is coming to you to rule and run their world, who’s running yours?

You’re obviously the glue that binds everything together, which means that you need to be taken care of more than anyone else. If you come undone, then the whole shebang comes unraveled and then what?

Breathe. Use those oh-so-common life hacks that we’ve adopted over the past few years. If you need to take a personal, mental health day from your job – do it! Don’t wait until you’ve made yourself sick to take a sick day. And if you’re going to take the mental health day, spend the day on YOU – doing things that YOU WANT TO DO and that make YOU happy. Give thanks during your personal day that you have the great fortune of taking such a day and for giving yourself the love that you so justly require.

Even I had to scale back what I was producing this month because I knew that I would begin to be pulled in every direction and at this time of year especially, I want to be present and I want to enjoy the spirit that fills the air for the entire month.

This year has been too hard for too many.

Too many have said, “Oh, I can’t wait for this year to be over.”

Is that supposed to mean that one’s life is automatically going to be better, because the year changed?

There’s only one way your life is going to change and it’s by you deciding that it will.

The mental process of deciding that your life is changing into the life that you want, perhaps your Ultimate Life at The Ultimate Level, begins with you thinking your new life into existence. You design your new life exactly as you want it to be and then you live as if it’s already happening – and then it DOES!

I am living proof of the process – one that I’ve even adopted and personalized to teach the world as The Bergstrom Practice.

It’s a Practice – because PRACTICE makes perfect.

Continue practicing giving thanks multiple times per day, every single day and your life will transform! Even if your life is awesome right now – you will be amazed at how much better it can be, how much more elevated your spirit can feel and what incredible sense of wonder will accompany your Ultimate Life, minute by minute.

Thank you for an incredible year of growth and learning with me here at The Center of Gratitude. I wish you all a “Merry Everything and a Merry Always” in hopes that you’ll celebrate each day of life; not just the ones given importance by bold print on a calendar.

Remember – every day is Thanksgiving, when you’re living with Gratitude. Have a grateful day!

Thanks-a-Latte!

Dr. B.

A Holiday Hiatus

IMG_1352

Hi!

At The Center of Gratitude, we hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday season and greet you with gratitude!

For the month of December, we are taking a “holiday hiatus” from producing more episodes for The Center of Gratitude Radio Show.  Our creative team is taking the month to plan, produce and design a refreshed arrangement for episodes coming up in 2018.

While we take a December pause to bring you content worthy of your time, take some time this month to catch up on episodes from 2017.  With over 35 episodes produced this year, you could listen to an episode each day for the rest of the month and like every good holiday, there would still be leftovers!

The entire year ahead is full of magic and mystique; and you’ll want to be right here, front and center, for every minute of it!

To continue to receive your daily doses of gratitude, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Even though we are celebrating a plethora of holidays this month, remember – every day is Thanksgiving, when you’re living with Gratitude!

Have a grateful day!
